Senate Judiciary Advances Nomination of Harmeet Dhillon to Full Senate Vote

The Senate Judiciary Committee, today, voted to advance the nomination of Center for American Liberty founder and CEO, Harmeet Dhillon, to the full Senate. A confirmation vote from the full Senate is expected in the weeks ahead.

In December, President Trump nominated Dhillon to serve as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the Justice Department. On February 26, 2025, Ms. Dhillon shined at her confirmation hearing impressing members with her three decades of litigation experience defending civil liberties and multiple victories at the United States Supreme Court.

Senator Mike Lee observed, “Harmeet Dhillon’s career reflects conviction and the relentless pursuit of justice, no matter the cost.”

Senator Josh Hawley remarked, “You spoke very movingly about religious liberty. It made me think of that line that America didn’t invent religious liberty; religious liberty invented America. And your family’s story is certainly a testament to that.”

Senator congratulated Dhillon her nomination stated, “I know that you’re going to follow those same premises [true, transparent, and honest] at the Department of Justice.
